Engineering for JV Info Solutions:
(Australia / India)
www.jvinfosol.com
JV Info Solutions focuses on high-fidelity
XML engineering of documents for markets in
Europe and Asia-Pacific.
We developed an XML conversion engine which
can take input in various formats like .txt,
.pdf, doc, xml to create variable output in
multiple formats according to the input DTD.
JVIS needed a solution that would help them
increase there output without any increase
in people required and production time. UGi
crafted an engine based on the .NET
platform. The engine has helped our partner
increase their output 70% with existing
people. The output is devoid of any
variations and human errors.
Connecting the Dots: Database to Web Portal
for Aligarh Muslim University
(India)
www.amufinanceoffice.com
Streamlining the information flow of 300
departments, 12,000 employees and disparate
data repositories was a challenge for AMU &
UGi.
The Requirement
Aligarh Muslim University is one of the most
respected universities of India with more
than 300 departments. The AMU finance
department needed a consolidated,
single-window system for generating a salary
slip and answering other finance related
repetitive queries from more than 12,000 AMU
employees.
An online solution was needed covering
payroll, employee information, department
budget, vendor payments and all other
finance related information concerning all
300 hundred departments of AMU. The idea was
to automate the flow of information,
increasing the speed as well as accuracy of
interaction.
The Solution
An online portal accessible 24x7 was
developed in PHP and MY SQL database system.
The functionality includes:
● employee login
● online salary slips generation
● pension
● PF details
● latest employee financial details and
documents
An Administrator Control panel to monitor
the records of 12,000+ employees, pensioners
and content of Web site was created; with
administrative ease-of-use as the driving
principle.
Challenges
The primary challenges were:
1. Make the database (Oracle) of 12,000+
employees and pensioners accessible online
24x7.
2. Provide a simple GUI that caters to
first-time PC users as well as conversant
users.
3. Simple and fast database updating system.
Smart Card for a New Venture (current
project under development):
(India)
www.dhampur.com
We are currently providing the DSM Group, a
leading Indian conglomerate with complete
smart card solutions for their upcoming IT
hub and malls.
We built a smart card application in the
.NET environment to keep a tab on net usage
at the cyber café with the option of
recharging the smart card and expansion of
use of smart card to avail other utilities
at the IT hub - for instance, the food court
shopping.
Key Challenge
SMART Access
The Internet can only be accessed by the
user after placing the valid smart card on
the reader. Internet access is dependent on
the card signal. If there is a break in the
continuous signal then the Internet is
disconnected and the centralized database is
updated. This was a major challenge and the
reader was reprogrammed to send continuous
signals to port.
